Missed my flight, had to incur in additional expenses and time to rebook a new flight and ended up having to shorten my vacation. This time around I took by business elsewhere.For a facility that heavily advertises the convenience of being close to the airport with 24/7 access this a fatal flaw. This is the first time my girl has failed her temperament test. She's a lab/pit mix 2 years, full of energy and VERY social. I took her in on 4/4/24. I figured I'd try this place out since I work 12 hour shifts and it says open 24 hrs. I'd rather her have some play time while I'm working then be asleep around the house for 13 hours. She's been to Barkefellers West many times and I've never had any complaints except, sometimes she doesn't know when to leave other dogs alone when they're tired and she wants to continue to play. Now, I was told she was being very dominant and aggressive, low/strong growls towards the handful of dog that were there. I was extremely surprised to hear this and saddened at the same time. I expressed how that's out of character for her and it's the first time I've ever heard this. I am not knocking what happened as I was not there so I don't know the situation, just word of mouth. So instead of letting her be locked up in their rooms, I picked her up as soon as I could. I would take her back to Barkefellers but their hours of operation wasn't fit for us on the weekday. Possibly on the weekends. Today (4/6/24) I took her to Camp Bow Wow, as we were just in Springfield MO at their location and forgot about their many locations all over. Which is closer but again, the hours weren't fit for weekdays best for weekends. She had to do her assessment as well but they told me to hang around first and by no shocker, I was told she was very timid and was unsure at first. She circled back around to the staff lady who took her in, and wagged her tail almost asking for permission and when she said go play with a hand gesture, she said she took off and warmed up instantly. THAT'S how my girl normally act at different locations and unfamiliar surroundings, even at the dog park. So I'm still baffled by the entire situation but maybe I dodged a bullet. It is what it is and I watched her on the cam and she seems to be having a ball. I didn't realize this location did not have cam footage available. The staffed were friendly, location was clean so it's not a terrible place, just wasn't a good fit for my girl and that's ok. The most recent time I needed to pick up 2 hrs early and they made sure his bath was done before we arrived!#2 The boarding prices are only slightly higher than other places I've used, but taking the dogs outside their kennel multiple times during the day is included in the price (most kennels charge extra).#3 I love the day boarding option for my dog that cannot go to "daycare", but sometimes needs a dogsitter all day.#4 My dog needed a vaccine and Priority was able to take care of that while my dog was there for day boarding.
